Weak public support, poor readiness, and thin endurance are the reasons: ammunition stocks and industrial output are not built for a long, high-intensity fight. That should surprise no one. Europe leaned on the United States for too long. Washington now looks tired of that role and is cutting its conventional presence. Time is running out for Europe.
