Rohde says Defense Secretary Hegseth “hid” the scale of the damage rather than publicly acknowledging it. Hegseth has called reports of crisis conditions on the Lincoln “completely misrepresented.” The carrier has been at sea over 250 days with reported food rationing, broken plumbing, and mental health strain. WSJ put Bahrain reconstruction costs at roughly $400 million. The USS George Washington is en route as relief.
