EU ambassadors agreed to drop the measures against them unless any government objects in the next few hours, Reuters reported

The deal is part of a package that extends sanctions on thousands of other Russian people and firms for three years instead of the usual six or twelve months.

The rollover of about 3,000 listings is due by Tuesday. France joined Slovakia in pushing Usmanov off the list.

Luxembourg, sued by Fridman over frozen assets, said it could not defend keeping him listed if Usmanov walked free alone.
